My life has been driven by seeking out my discomfort zones. My first career was in banking, where I rose to senior positions in a major bank, completing an MBA and a degree in psychology on the way. At forty-three I resigned to join a startup science-based business, which later closed, making me redundant. The best thing that ever happened to me! I set up a Scientific Analytical business (hey, I have science ‘O’-levels!) selling it in 2015. I decided to take up my third and fourth careers, ceramics and writing. In the former I am one of very few ceramicists using 3D printing to make moulds for slip casting. Writing fills the time when I am not working on ceramics or complaining bitterly about physics and the way it is out to get you. This is my sixth novel. I live just outside Cambridge. I drive an electric car, have a wife of 43 years, 2 children and a grandson.
