Gillian McKenzie has been writing and performing political satire since 2006. She has written and spoken on issues as wide ranging as politics, the Iraq war, and the Kennedy Assassination. Growing up in a deeply conservative Christian family in the Midwest, Gillian moved to New York as a freshman where she majored in Philosophy and Journalism at New York University. She currently writes and performs political satire, and lectures in journalism online. The 2016 election provided Gillian with a lot of material to work with. According to her, the best thing to come out of that result was the idea behind this her first book, Understanding Trump: How to Survive the next 4 years. Gillian lives in Connecticut with her pet cat, Mr. Socks.
