EVANGELIST, MINISTER, DRUMMER, and AUTHOR: Dr. Darry Lisemby, originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana, has dedicated more than 50 years to sharing the Gospel through preaching, music, and discipleship across the United States and around the world. An ordained Southern Baptist minister, Darry holds both a Doctor of Ministry and a Master of Divinity. His calling has led him to serve in diverse ministry roles, including evangelist, family and student pastor, church planter, missions team leader, music minister, Christian recording artist, and drummer.
Darry’s ministry began at the age of ten, when he first played drums for his family’s traveling Gospel group, recording fourteen albums at the Oak Ridge Boys’ recording studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Darry Lisemby, as a professional musician, has played with Johnny Cash, the Oak Ridge Boys, the Florida Boys, the Blackwoods, the Happy Goodman Family, and alongside studio musicians of Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, and others. His passion for sharing Christ through word and song has taken him to churches, conferences, camps, arenas, coliseums, and mission fields globally. His extensive work includes co-founding a Bible and music camp, as well as investing his life in evangelism, worship, discipleship, and church outreach initiatives. Recognized for his service and leadership, Darry was honored with the Arkansas Outstanding Citizen Award by Governor Mike Huckabee in 2006.
In addition to his ministry and evangelistic work, Darry has appeared in major Christian productions such as the Broadway-style musical The Promise at the Mansion Theatre in Branson, Missouri, where he portrayed the Apostle Peter there in the live entertainment capital of the world, and The Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, America’s #1 attended outdoor drama. He also hosted Sunday Celebration in Branson and produced the musical Christmas on Ice: A Stroll Down Memory Lane. Darry is host of the global broadcast teaching platform Living the Life Podcast.
Today, Darry and his wife, Pamela Hamilton Lisemby, have been married for nearly forty years and continue to serve together in ministry alongside their family and the ministry team weRcalled – a Christian family band touring nationally. Darry and Pamela’s family includes two sons, two daughters, their spouses, twin granddaughters, a grandson, and a new granddaughter welcomed in the fall of 2025.When asked where they live, Darry and Pamela joke that they “live on a bus.” When not traveling in the ministry’s forty-five-foot coach, Darry and Pamela hang their hats at their lake house in the piney backwoods of Arkansas and enjoy family time in Missouri, Louisiana, Tennessee and Texas.
