I discovered Bitcoin, Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies well before most of the world did back in 2010. At the time, the fledgling currency was underground yet many could see its true potential for taking on the global economy and causing a massive shift in the way we perform transactions. Graduating from University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Economics, I decided to dedicate my time to furthering my personal research into Bitcoin and seek out opportunities that I could exploit as the cryptocurrency developed, seeing the huge potential that Bitcoin was able to unlock in just a few short years of its existence. I grew interested in cryptocurrency because it offered an alternative to fiat currencies which are controlled by central banks meaning they determine the rules which the rest of us need to live by. Being somewhat of an anarchist, I enjoyed the idea that Bitcoin was entirely open source and decentralized. The idea that the government and central banks could change our financial situations to suit their own didn’t sit too well with me, Bitcoin offered a solution. Upon discovering Bitcoin, I began to research heavily into the blockchain and how it could be applied to solve many of society's challenges. I began to invest in Bitcoin quite early on and this allowed me to amass a small fortune as the value of coins continued to increase with the rest of the world catching on. My interest in cryptocurrencies then took me further, learning about the various alt coins that offered entirely different platforms and solutions to problems with features that Bitcoin had still yet to implement. I have seen Bitcoin grow from a humble experiment to one of the most intriguing developments of the 21st century. I now spend my time investing in startups surrounding Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, having a keen eye for hidden gems that could possibly take the world by storm. This had led me down the path to meet some of the most influential people in this space and tackle those challenges I spoke of earlier, hands-on myself. From reading this book, I hope I piqued your interest in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies so that you may further your own research and make new discoveries as I have done. From here, you are encouraged to continue learning and make decisions based on what you uncover which will allow you to not only build your wealth during this exciting time but also better human society through the blockchain.
