Back in Haddon, the fiercely proud Red Queen Brigid struggles to hold her crumbling kingdom together, beset by the schemes of a dark sorceress and the ever-present threat of her exiled husband Orben of Lotte. Her young son Beckett waits anxiously for his hero's return, while the wizard Zarem guards his secrets and prays Padraigh is strong enough to survive what lies ahead.
