As their relationship deepens, Margaret, reveals that her husband died in mysterious circumstances years ago. Laura realises that because of the lack of closure, Margaret is still grieving for him. A few years after his death, Margaret's money and savings were stolen, and the culprit disappeared to South Africa.

In the third book of the Tempest series, Laura's holiday in the tranquillity of Japan's cherry orchards is shattered by the abduction of an 8-year-old girl. Laura is pulled into a place where she must overcome devious double-crossing, international conspiracy, and a ruthless killer.
