This novelette is the first of a four-part series that explains the true origin of the first vampire and the curses placed upon its bloodline. Set in ancient Egypt during Moses's return, an Egyptian woman, Pashera, hears rumors of the final plague that the Hebrew God will cast upon the firstborn of Egypt.

In an attempt to save her only son, she places lamb's blood upon the doorpost of her home as Moses instructed his Hebrew people to do. While the Angel of Death does pass over her house, Pashera's decision will change the course of history and unleash the first vampire upon the world.
