The mountains hide magic older than memory, and weird and wild things lurk in the shadows, better left forgotten.

Veronica Carter, a bitter detective with the ability to talk to ghosts, seeks out cases that cross into the paranormal. While trying to solve a mysterious murder, she encounters Jennifer Simmons, a disgraced psychologist who has returned to her childhood home to find the monster who killed her father. The violent creature has plans of its own.
