When Constance finds the town's resident vampire dead, things go from surreal to scary. The local sheriff is convinced that a killer is lurking in the shadows, hunting anyone with supernatural abilities...including witches like her.

This is a fun story with interesting characters and a plot that held my attention. I look forward to more stories by Christine Zane Thomas.

Enjoyed Constance coming into her peers later in life . The story took a while to get going but I am convinced that as the series builds so will the place . After all it is based in a sleepy mid western town where nothing happens ? Or does it ! ?

whilst being an enjoyable listen,I felt that there was also an underlying message in this story. a message very apt in our present society. that of the racism, bigotry and persecution toward others "not like us". I'm probably reading too much into it, but I think it's worth thinking about.
