Laramie had just been hit by the Clayton gang, leaving Sheriff Joe Tate without any deputies to serve the entire county. But first, they must cover hundreds of miles and face many perils: disgruntled Indians, buffalo stampedes, dangerous river crossings, extreme weather, and new danger from within their rolling village.
