Laramie had just been hit by the Clayton gang, leaving Sheriff Joe Tate without any deputies to serve the entire county. But, as bad as the gunfight had been, the visitor to his office to file a complaint for something that wasn’t even a crime turned out to be much more significant and life-changing.

Ok, I'll be like Sheriff Tate and admit I was wrong. I thought I only wanted bullets, blood and mayhem in my historical fiction westerns. Then I come across CJ Pettit who mixes in along with some gret shoot-em ups, dramatic tales of honour, redemption and what we all hope for in life which is trust, honesty, and a deep love of ourselves and others. I now am under the author's spell and look forward to the intrigue of emotional human story lines as much as the intricate bandit and lawbreaker twists and turns. All I can say is I can't wait to saddle up for the next Pettit novel.
