The White Flame returns home, friends reunite, and the Infernal Halls await. Hump proved himself in the Dragon Keeper Trials, wielded the winds of earth to vanquish a lich queen, and received answers from a goddess. Yet those answers left him burdened with an even deeper mystery. Returning to Alveron, Hump and Celaine reunite with old friends as a greater danger rises. The Fallen lands creep closer, spreading their corruption, but it is not only monsters they must fear. Warlocks conspire to bring their forgotten gods back to power, and they will bargain with even demons to succeed.

Hump and his companions return to Sheercliff City to find a region plagued by monsters—bad news for most, but for a hedge wizard, it's just good business. With the gorger dead and the bond with his unhatched dragon growing quickly, Hump looked forward to some ordinary adventures. Yet trouble finds him as the Inquisition arrives, accusing him of his master's murder. It seems there is more to the old man's death than he believed.

Hump triumphed over the challenges of Bledsbury Dungeon, but it wasn’t without a cost... Imprinted by the soul of the Wolf Dragon, Hump must master this new power or risk being consumed by it. The soul is a fragile thing after all, and he fears what part of himself may have been lost. But with the threat of the Dragon Keeper Trials looming, he must find a way to get stronger...fast.

With the newly hatched Nishari at his side, it is finally time for Hump to face his fate in Drakalyn, home of the wolf dragons, but to get there he must venture through the Fallen Lands—a realm lost to dungeons and monsters. Only, time is not on his side. The Book of Infinite Pages has awoken, and if Hump fails to master his manifested soul, others will seek to claim it. Even in these distant lands, a new danger approaches, and it seeks the blood of a goddess. The Dragon Keepers are all that stand between Celaine's people and death. The White Flame must blaze again.

Gezeichnet vom Restreich muss Hump seine Seele zurückerobern. Gemeinsam mit seinen Gefährten kehrt Hump nach Sheercliff City zurück–und findet ein Gebiet vor, das von Monstern heimgesucht wird. Schlechte Nachrichten für die meisten, doch für einen Heckenmagier bieten sich hier einfach nur gute Geschäfte. Mit dem Tod des Verschlingers und der rasch wachsenden Bindung zu seinem ungeborenen Drachen hatte Hump gehofft, sich endlich ein paar ganz gewöhnlichen Abenteuern widmen zu können.

Hump hat den berüchtigten Bledsbury-Dungeon überstanden – doch sein Sieg fordert einen hohen Preis … Seit er von der Seele eines Wolfdrachen gezeichnet wurde, lodert in ihm eine Macht, die ihn ebenso stärken wie zerstören kann.

Für Hump ist das alles bloß eine hübsche Geschichte. Als Lehrling eines umherziehenden Magiers ist er damit aufgewachsen, von einer bezahlten Quest zur nächsten zu ziehen. Er hat seinen Meister immer für einen gewöhnlichen Heckenmagier gehalten, bis der alte Mann plötzlich starb und sein Zauberbuch an Humps Seele gebunden wurde.
