What is reincarnation? Sissy Holmes doesn't have a clue until a hypnotist (soon to be dead) delves too deeply into her psyche. The voice inside her head says he's Sherlock Holmes and wants to investigate the murder. Sissy thinks she must be crazy. Emily Watson lives in a quaint English manor house with her twin sister, confined to a 20-mile radius around the estate for reasons she has never known. When the mysterious Professor Moriarty comes to visit and her sister goes missing, she discovers she is the half-sister of Dr. John Watson. Traveling to London to meet him, she finds that he is the biographer and flatmate of famed consulting detective Sherlock Holmes, in whom Professor Moriarty has expressed a sinister interest.

When a famous dressage horse goes missing in the middle of the night, and the bodies of an unknown man and local stable boy are found dead outside the horse's empty stall, the blame is immediately pinned on a gorgeous amiable stallion covered in the victims' blood. When Eddy brings them a curious case involving a jumbled circular message, they jump in with both feet. But as they attempt to crack the cipher, they uncover a dark past of a seemingly innocent young woman and a cover-up that may put them both in grave danger.
