Kanada, 1934: Das Mädchen Pearly Everlasting, zu Deutsch Silberimmortelle, ist fünfzehn und in einem Holzfällercamp mitten im Wald aufgewachsen – zusammen mit dem Bären Bruno, der seit ihrer Geburt ein Teil der Familie ist.
