In the seventh book of the Anne of Green Gables series, Anne and Gilbert Blythe have been happily married for over a decade and have six children. The children take center stage in this story, as they befriend the four children of a new minister in tow, John Meredith. After John’s wife died, he has buried himself into theological studies, and lets his children run free. And though the children are generally kind and loyal, the townsfolk only really notice them on the occasions where they’re getting into trouble.

The Marvelous Land of Oz begins soon after the events of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and follows the adventures of a young boy named Tip exploring a world where everything has been turned upside down after the departure of Dorothy. When Dorothy left, her friends the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman were given rulership over the Emerald City and the Winkie Kingdom. But the Scarecrow’s rule of the Emerald City has been overthrown by an all-girl army, and Tip is recruited along with the Tin Woodman to help him get the city back.

In this fantastical tale, Dorothy Gale is whisked away to a land called Ev, after being blown into the sea during a storm. After being captured and kept imprisoned by an evil princess, she is rescued by Princess Ozma and her familiar friends, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion, among others. After the daring rescue, the band must make their way through obstacles and dangers to make it back to the Emerald City one again.

Characters that are passed down through history are larger than life, and Paul Bunyan is a fabled figure whose stories have been passed between generations and grown to epic proportions throughout time. The legendary giant lumberjack accompanied by trusty Babe the Blue Ox is a classic character whose legends have lived for over a hundred years. Familiar characters from the first novel return, but a new cast of unique neighbors and mischievous students fills the audiobook with life and new personality.

Bambi is the beloved story of a young deer’s childhood and coming of age in a forest with many dangers. Because deer are prey for humans, Bambi is taught from a young age about the dangers he will face and warned to always be cautious. He, and all of the other creatures in the forest, fear humans.

Eight-year-old Princess Irene is everything a princess of her age should be: brave, imaginative, strong-willed, and eager to be a good person. But her situation is not ideal: She lives in a lonely castle separated from her kingdom with her nursemaid, amid mines full of goblins who seek to destroy her and her family.

Doctor John Dolittle is a physician living in England who loves animals. He acquires many animals in his small home, but the volume of animals causes his human patients to be uncomfortable and seek out other practitioners. Doctor Dolittle does the most sensible thing in that situation - learns to speak to the animals from his pet parrot and takes up veterinary medicine instead of human medicine.

The Velveteen Rabbit is the classic tale of a beloved stuffed rabbit who, while once fluffy and huggable, has become worn out and threadbare after years of being loved. He is saved after being discarded and taken to Rabbitland, where he becomes “Real” and is cherished for the rest of time.

In Anne of Green Gables, we meet Anne Shirley, the central character of the series. Anne is an orphan in Nova Scotia and is sent to a pair of unmarried siblings in the fictional town of Avonlea. The siblings, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, meant to adopt a boy to assist on their family farm, but they eventually accept Anne when they meet her and experience her imagination and fancifulness. Anne begins to assist Matthew at Green Gables, and her adventure begins!

Jim Hawkins and his mother unlock a sea chest belonging to Billy Bones, an old sea captain who died while staying at their inn. Inside the chest was a logbook and map. Thus begins one of the greatest adventures of all time. Once again come aboard the Hispaniola in search of treasure with young Jim Hawkins, Dr. Livesey and Long John Silver.
