Punk’s not dead in rural West Virginia. In fact, it blares constantly from the basement of Rob and Nat Rufus—identical twin brothers with spiked hair, black leather jackets, and the most kick-ass record collection in Appalachia. To them, school (and pretty much everything else) sucks. But what can you expect when you’re the only punks in town? When the brothers start their own band, their lives begin to change: they meet friends, they attract girls, and they finally get invited to join a national tour and get out of their rat box little town. But their plans are cut short.

Currently, in the United States alone, nearly 250,000 women under age 40 are living with breast cancer. This year, approximately 11,000 women under age 40 will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and close to 1,300 will die. For women in their twenties and thirties, being diagnosed with breast cancer is a vastly different experience than for their older counterparts. I'm Too Young considers how breast cancer affects young women's lives: their career goals, health insurance coverage, career changes, education, and shifting work/life priorities.

Through the lens of the natural world around her, the young cancer survivor reveals the intensely private and deeply emotional aspects of fighting for her life. Sometimes with a pinch of humor but always with raw honesty, she holds on to bright hope that warmly invites you to share in her journey.
