For Lena, in her dreams, sometimes she would touch the surface of the crystal and time would stop. It allowed her to go anywhere and only she was moving. In the story, the dreams continued and became a passion of hers to try and understand what the meaning of these dreams were.

Her only hope for survival is to find her own roots...The Collapse is imminent, and Rosie’s stuck in the present day where she will be swept away by an apocalyptic ice melt. Since Carlos is by her side, she’s not panicking...yet. Instead, she focuses on finding the teenage girl in Seattle who will become her grandmother.
