Last night, I tried to drink away my feelings for my brother's best friend. Today I’m riding across a dangerous, desert wasteland with him. When Torrance Knight steps up to make this dangerous ride with me, I’m both relieved and dreading the journey. He’s pure sin wrapped in a tall, leather package. Now as an unlicensed medic, I travel what was once the southwestern United States, trading medical services for food, transportation, and shelter with the hopes of reaching Canada.

Somehow, I’m still alive. So are the gruff, dangerous men I’ve found myself strangely at home with. The Steel Demons escaped execution only to find they’ve been betrayed by one of their own. Once an unbreakable brotherhood, tension and distrust grows between them.

Not even the gods can save us. Two of my men have been captured. The rest of us are barely holding on. We’re wanted, and our army stands no chance against the swarm of mind-controlled pawns. Failure is not an option. Abandoning my husbands is not an option. But the longer we take to plan, the closer we get to losing them. Even worse, our companion gods are no help. Horus can’t see them. Freyja can’t heal them. And Hades can only tell me they’re not dead yet. We have everything to lose, and no options left. Jandro, Gunner, and I must do this ourselves.
