She and her book club friends resolved to use the heroines from their favorite romance novels as inspiration for the year. Paige’s resolution had her going through a romance genre and trope checklist to try to lose her V-card, but what she found—besides making new friends—was self-discovery and the confidence to rival any heroine. Paige had used their inspiration to gain her dream job, but now it was time to finally find someone to punch that card.

Paige Turner is ready to jump back into the New Year’s Resolution she made with her book club to use the heroines from her romance books to lose her V-card. She said fate would tell her if she should continue, and fate sent in the Marines. Only this time, Paige has a lot more riding on her resolution than just her virginity. The resolution wasn’t simply a romance genre and trope checklist. It was to embody all the things Paige had learned from the heroines in her favorite books. That included the confidence it took to go after what she really wanted, inside and outside the bedroom.

It should be a dream assignment—leave my boring day-to-day routine and travel to a seaside mansion to interview superstar author Jack R. R. Bestia. Who wouldn’t want that? Me, that’s who. He has a reputation for being reclusive and temperamental, but that’s not why I’m leery of the assignment. It’s because the first (and last) time I met Jack…well, let’s just say I didn’t make a good impression. When I get to the mansion, things don’t go much better. The only way I manage to squeak in is by signing a massive nondisclosure agreement. And I soon figure out why.

If I go on his little dates, he’ll teach my bookish, introverted self how not to be totally, completely, utterly, unforgivably awkward.

Let it be known that I, Holley Stuart, do not give a single rat's behind about pro baseball's star pitcher Sebastian Stone. I definitely don't care that he's standing in my bookstore. Nor do I care that he seems to have forgotten about the last time we saw each other: senior prom, when he both humiliated me and broke my heart, albeit unknowingly. Now, he needs a date to his sister's wedding. Don't ask me how I ended up being it - I have no idea. But that's the least of my problems. His grandfather is adamant we're dating, and Seb isn't in a hurry to convince him otherwise.
