Trust. It's not really my thing. I can count the people I trust on one hand. On one finger, in fact. So what happens if that one person betrays me?

Julep Dupree tells lies. A lot of them. She’s a con artist, a master of disguise, and a sophomore at Chicago’s swanky St. Agatha High, where her father, an old-school grifter with a weakness for the ponies, sends her so she can learn to mingle with the upper crust. For extra spending money, Julep runs petty scams for her classmates while dodging the dean of students and maintaining an A+ (okay, A-) average. She's a fixer, and she's good at it. But it's not what she wants. And soon, she'll hang up her grifter skills for good.

But would a normal person switch identities with some wet mess of a girl at the airport just to get her to stop bawling about being separated from her loser boyfriend and sent to live with some distant relatives? Nope, she wouldn't. Yet I did. I'm not as normal as you think. And you'll just have to trust me.

Memphis "M" Engel is stubborn to a fault, graced with an almost absurd knowledge of long-lost languages and cultures, and a heck of an opponent in a fight. In short: She's awesome. Ashwin “Ash” Sood is a little too posh for M's tastes, a little too good-looking, and has way too many secrets. He desperately wants the ancient map M inherited from her archaeologist father, believing it will lead him to a relic with the power to destroy the world. M obviously can't trust him.
