When the dental clinic where amateur sleuth and dog trainer, Eve, works is set on fire, and someone far too close to home perishes in the flames, Eve is distraught. Something doesn’t seem quite right, and she’s determined to find out whether the death, which has been ruled an accident, was actually an accident. In a case where the stakes are high and the situation highly personal, Eve follows her instincts in an attempt to get to the truth. With Tally's Old Tyme Sweets finally - well, almost - turning a profit, Tally Holt is taking one busy Saturday off to host a grand party for her parents, traveling performers who spend most of their time on the road. Tally's counting on the publicity and free treats to attract new customers. And the event is a sweet success - at least until Fran Abraham, the town's foul-tempered theater director, drops dead after a bitter confrontation with Tally's mother. Murder was definitely not on Tally's menu, but it's clear that Fran's death wasn't natural.

It’s been two months since the fiery events of Burned to a Crisp, and it’s Christmas in Enumclaw. Hedy is back to hosting visitors in her waystation, while Mel and Darro are decking the halls and telling tales of Krampus in between batches of cannibal gingerbread men cookies - just another Christmas at the gingerbread hag bakery. But the holiday spirit isn’t the only thing making its way through Enumclaw. Something definitely from the naughty list is attacking the local farms and the children are possessed with mischief.
