Da er die Weissagung nicht verstand, begab er sich nach Troizen zu dem weisen König Pittheus. Dieser verstand den Orakelspruch und brachte Aigeus dazu, mit einem Mädchen zu schlafen – vermutlich, indem er ihn betrunken machte.
