Story0
On 26 November 1922, after eight years of work in the Valley of the Kings, archeologist Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tut-Ankh-Amen, a pharaoh of the 18th dynasty (around 1300 BCE). Different than all the tombs hitherto excavated, this was the first to be virtually undisturbed, and Carters words on a first look inside "Wonderful things!" have gone down in history. Excavating the tomb in full took eight years, and most of the 5,398 items that were found there are now on display in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, with the exception of the mummy of Tut-Ankh-Amen that remained where it had ...

On November 26, 1922, after eight years of relentless exploration in the Valley of the Kings, renowned archaeologist Howard Carter made a groundbreaking discovery—the tomb of Tut-Ankh-Amen, an 18th dynasty pharaoh dating back to around 1300 BCE. Unlike any tomb excavated before, this remarkable find was virtually untouched by tomb raiders. Carters famous exclamation upon his first glimpse inside, Wonderful things! has echoed through history. The meticulous excavation took another eight years, unveiling an astonishing 5,398 artifacts, most of which are now proudly displayed in the ...

Thirty seconds of gunfire. A century and a half of legend. October 26, 1881 — a dusty street in Tombstone, Arizona, erupts in the most famous gunfight in American history. But the truth is far more complex than the myth. In Tombstone: 1881, author Tim Simpson peels back more than a century of Hollywood gloss to reveal the real men behind the legend — Wyatt, Virgil, Morgan, and Warren Earp, Doc Holliday, and the rivals who faced them in the smoke of the O.K. Corral.

He portrayed a Civil War cavalryman, who after the war becomes a cattleman in Arizona. The nationally heard program began five minutes after the hour, following a short CBS News break. It was one of three western...
