When Deirdre Fishel and Diana Holtzberg began work on their documentary Still Doing It, they knew they were catching a wave. The women of the baby-boom generation who had been so outspoken about sexuality and freedom were about to turn sixty, yet no one was talking about the revolution in aging. Nor was anyone letting on about the big dark secret that women born before the boomers, even way before, were a hell of a lot more vital than the images we were getting, and many were still having sex-and loving it!

Susie looks at Brigham Young University’s treatment of its LGBTQ students. They may have made some progressive changes to the honor code, but progress is measured in millimeters. Next, the Tik-Tok nurse spouting the same old conservative drivel that leads to outbreaks of STI’s in the heartland. And then, new on Audible: Dr. Anne L. Let's meet a group of women who pick up the pieces when their husbands come out. Susie reads from an article by Chadwick Moore in Out magazine that tells the stories of women dealing with their husbands' changes in sexual preference. Many of these women are devout Christians or from conservative backgrounds. They feel they should remain supportive, even at the sacrifice of their own happiness.

Susie starts off today's show with a remembrance of Helen Gurley Brown. Back in the 1960s, Brown, ahead of her time, offered up the idea that single women liked sex and should have a lot of it. She went on to become the editor of Cosmopolitan, where she was the first to bring titillating images and headlines to women's magazine covers. Susie plays a radio interview of Brown as she talks with conservative talk-show host Joe Pyne.
