Lauren's parents knew something was different about her from the time she was an infant but as she entered Kindergarten in the fall of 1986 her differences were very obvious to everyone around her as compared to other children her age.

At birth, few people knew if Scotty Crabtree would live past infancy. Growing up with cerebral palsy, his future was uncertain. Thanks to the company of family and friends in the Bakersfield community, he would be “just fine”. Despite losing loved ones, undergoing painful surgery, and life’s daily obstacles, Scotty believes in celebrating life and pursuing his dreams as a country music artist - especially since the fateful night one man told him one thing: “You can do anything you set your mind to....”
