Kyle's great-grandfather once possessed a silver lance that, according to legend, gave its owner invincible power. The lance is now missing, and Kyle is always looking for it, but so are his worst enemies: the robber Rasputin and the evil magician Balduin. Luckily, Kyle has the help of his friends, including Lady Constance (who is as brave as a dragon), Dragobert (who really is a dragon), Elf Aurin (whose harp playing, unfortunately, puts Kyle to sleep), and Prince Nepomuk (who protects his friends and his wardrobe).

Twelve-year-old Acea Bishop was always the nerdy kid who would rather go to the library during recess to read about animals instead of playing basketball like the other boys. Now, after being kidnapped and waking up inside of an ancient kingdom strangely resembling a zoo, Acea is running from those same animals he used to love reading about.

Kyle is very excited today; he gets to look at the books Mr. Parker donated to his library. They are old and mysterious books. As he goes through the books, Kyle's attention is suddenly attracted to a particularly old and dusty book. As Kyle starts reading, a strange thing happens. He is dragged into the book and lands in a strange place, a place where he has never been before.

It's Kyles last summer at Hillside Camp. He will enlist the help of new friends, and even some enemies, in order to foil a devious plot to take control of the camp, the nearby town of Bellevue, and all of Washington State.

Ruby, a curious Rottweiler, discovers her sapphire charm glowing mysteriously. Following its pull, Ruby leads her human friend, Lily, to the edge of a magical forest. They encounter talking animals and learn about the treasures hidden within the Enchanted Forest, including the value of friendship. As night falls, Ruby and Lily find themselves surrounded by new friends around a campfire.
