Hanna Sheehy Skeffington was a beacon of light in the early 1900s with her campaigns for women’s right to vote and right to education. Hanna was a prolific activist and organiser. This Play is about Hanna Sheehy Skeffington on hunger strike in Mountjoy. She is joined by James Connolly in Mountjoy prison. In 1913 both were in Mountjoy prison and both went on hunger strike. The people are real and of great historical importance.

Based on the Donner Party, Cold Hunger is set in the present but relies on the facts of the original case for many events. Partly historical fiction and partly apocalyptic horror, Cold Hunger brings the past and present together for a disturbing look into true hunger. In a desolate, disease-ravaged world, survivors are forced to travel to a new settlement to find safety. Led by the Donner brothers, the group face hunger, scavenger attacks, illnesses, human greed, brutal natural events, and something far worse.
