Hanna Sheehy Skeffington was a beacon of light in the early 1900s with her campaigns for women’s right to vote and right to education. Hanna was a prolific activist and organiser. She was the only woman to be chosen to be on the provisional government post 1916 Rising, if it had succeeded. She is a legendary figure for Irish feminism. This Play is about Hanna Sheehy Skeffington on hunger strike in Mountjoy. She is joined by James Connolly in Mountjoy prison. In 1913 both were in Mountjoy prison and both went on hunger strike. The people are real and of great historical importance.
