A decade ago, unrest over population control methods resulted in the tragic death of Ava’s parents. Left orphaned, Ava is driven by a singular mission: to secure the youth-restoring drug, Pres-X, for her elderly aunt. Since the unrest, fertile women’s rights have been severely curtailed. Such oppressive restrictions force Ava to explore morally grey methods to obtain the funds required to secure the drug.

In the near future, Hannah (age 16), her younger brother Loghan (age 11), and her younger sister Emma (age 5) are on the run aided by a man named Shane. Hannah hears that Shane’s a kidnapper on the news. Is he out to help or put them in more danger? A few months earlier, Hannah, Loghan, and Emma lived in one of the nicest suburban neighborhoods in Potsville, Indiana. Emma’s health has been deteriorating for some time, but now they’re noticing.

Kyra has always made it a habit to follow the rules. Or, more specifically, she has done so in hopes of staying out of sight and out of mind to those around her. Ever since she was taken prisoner, even with the feelings she's kept towards those responsible for killing her mother, she's never had an issue keeping her head down. That is, until she and her entire prison sector are relocated, and those feelings begin to bubble to the surface as tensions grow.

Imagine if World War 2 had been a cover-up this whole time. Imagine if every country had no idea that a larger mysterious power was ruling over everything and everyone. The United States got power-hungry after World War 1, so it began to devise a plan to keep gaining more control, not cluing the president in. The government descended into oppression for centuries, putting more control over the people, arrests for no reason, and checkpoints, like a living prison. People have to hide who they truly are. Safety is never guaranteed.
