Alexandra Rousseau, an engineer from the European Federation Star Navy with a past darker than the void between the stars, is unexpectedly launched into hyperspace when an FTL jump goes horribly wrong. They must liberate Darthar, the jewel of the wastelands, if they are to restore the connection Rebirth had with the Duchy of Sarth and what remains of the kingdom beyond. Meanwhile, ever so slowly, the world marches towards annihilation, as conspiracies millennia in the making reach their crescendo, and the entire planet teeters on the brink.

The time to attack has come… The automata of the Old World lie in ruins, and Alexandra has one more piece of the mystery that is Alcheryos. But now the Kingdom has fallen into civil war, and the Republic is marching its entire army to invade Rebirth. Alexandra has no intention of letting the Republic get close to her dungeon town. It's time to take the fight to the enemy, and for that, she will need to build an armada to grind her foes into dust, staining the sands of the wastelands red with their blood.

The horde dealt with, Regan turns his attention to the north. As he works to increase his children's and his power, events in the world seem to be against him.
