This book has two stories for children that deal with the central theme of greed. Following the tradition of Panchtantra, both the stories have forests as their settings with animals as characters. The first story, the titular 'Sookha Ghulab', is about a very beautiful but proud vixen, Bhoori. The second story, 'Mama Garjo', is about a grief-stricken tiger who finds solace in letting little animals play with him.

Andi and Johnny were the best of friends and did everything together. But as they grew up, their different abilities kept them apart. Johnny became an Awesome Ant who provided for the colony and was hailed as a hero. Andi worked underground, was looked down upon, and forgotten.
