Story0
Jeff Chambers visits Carnforth Station, in Lancashire, in north-west England. The 1945 film Brief Encounter was partly filmed here, and the location of many of the scenes can still be found. Jeff re-visits the romantic story, and explores its relevance to the audiences of today. Carnforth though is also the home to a working steam locomotive depot, and Jeff relates the visit of two steam-hauled trains, along with more of the history of this interesting little railway station.

Story0
Crime and Peter Chambers brought to radio a fictional private detective created by author Henry Kane, who also produced the show and wrote for it.[2] Kane introduced Chambers in the 1947 novel A Halo for Nobody. and featured him in a series of novels, the last of which was Kill for the Millions (1972).]Chambers was based in New York City, and his fee was $500 per day. I'm a Navy veteran and it's shaped my life. I want to share that perspective, talk to other veterans about their experiences and even get into some current events, whether it be directly related to the military or a potential pointless foreign intervention we find ourselves upon the precipice of entering.

The world is a bit strange right now, but there’s plenty of people lining up to say that this is going to change the way we live our lives forever. And strangely enough, most of us seem to agree. According to a YouGov poll, only 9% of Britons want life to return to normal after the pandemic is over. They say the like the community spirit, and they’ve seen a return of wildlife. While the only beneficiaries I’ve seen locally are rats, maybe they’re right. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
