Jako jediný Čech v historii motorsportu zkusil jaké to je odstartovat do závodu formule 1. V monopostu týmu Prost odjel tři závody a na startovním roštu se potkal třeba s legendárním Michaelem Schumacherem. Ale tím jeho závodní kariéra ani zdaleka neskončila. Jako první český pilot jel závod Indy 500, devětkrát jel čtyřiadvacetihodinovku v Le Mans, je šampionem Le Mans Series a při své premiéře dokončil Rallye Dakar.
