About this listen
Let’s Talk Transport is a new podcast series led by our CIHT Young Professionals. The series will cover several different topics across the year including sustainability, road safety and electric vehicles. The podcast is led by Annika Davies (Recruitment Officer for CIHT London & Transport Consultant at Markides Associates) and Rahul Modhvadia (Young Professional Chair for CIHT Cymru Wales & Engineer at Jacobs).
In 2020, the effects of the coronavirus pandemic resulted in a drastic shift in how many use transport. There were benefits to this as well as negatives; but as we look to the end of the pandemic will industry plans for the future of transport need to be revised? What will be the long-term effects of shifting working patterns and remote working? And what will be the impact on young professionals? These questions are explored in this podcast.
The podcast also includes an interview with Martin Tugwell, CIHT President who also talks about his view on the topic, his experience as the CIHT President and the new opportunities for CIHT members to get more involved. Martin is also the Programme Director at England’s Economic Heartland (EEH), one of 7 Sub-national Transport Bodies in England, which brings political and business leaders together in a strategic collaborative partnership committed to realising the economic potential of the Heartland, including the Oxford – Milton Keynes – Cambridge Arc.
Please note: The interview was recorded in December 2020 and does not reflect the current UK government guidance on travel. To find out more about the current guidance go here:
