  • Summary

  • Two Dope Boys in a Navy jet. The Wingmen Show is a weekly podcast about challenges and opportunities in everyday life. Your hosts are two guys born in Harlem, New York previously unknown to each other. Separately, they became Navy pilots flying high performance jet aircraft on and off of aircraft carriers patrolling the world’s oceans. Their paths did not cross formally until they ended up flying for the same airline after their active-duty military service had ended. They have a wide range of experiences spanning the worlds of basketball and boxing. Drew’s father is Drew Bundini Brown, Muhammad Ali’s Wingman and coined the iconic phrase “Float Like A Butterfly Sting, Like A Bee". Martial Arts and Show Business are also areas of mutual interest. Drew has been featured nationally on television programs such as the Donahue Show and the Today Show. He has also appeared in hundreds of newspapers and magazines. Both are published authors as well as former Navy jet pilots and Commercial Airline Pilots; they retired after having flown the Boeing 777 airliner. The cultural mix of religions, immigrant parents and grandparents from Europe and the Caribbean gives them an uncommon perspective on racial matters. Melding the cultures of New York City, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Memphis, the Caribbean and Atlanta has helped shape their worldview when combined with the life they have seen and experienced having flown extensively to countries throughout the world. They are wingmen to each other, providing advice, guidance and constructive criticism when needed. The goal of the show is to inspire and entertain those unafraid to expand their minds and perhaps learn something new in the hope that the listeners can become wingmen to others. Each one, teach one.

Everyone has a talent in something. It may be apparent or hidden inside of you, just waiting to come out. The country where women have only been allowed to vote for a few decades will now be led by a Jewish woman whose grandparents emigrated to the country after fleeing NAZI persecution during World War II.

North and South Korea have been at odds with each other for more than seventy years. The North had taken the unusual step of displaying their displeasure with their neighbor to the south by intentionally sending large balloons filled with trash designed to eventually crash and make a mess that had to be cleaned up. North Korea has given their intention to stop the practice, but promise to resume the trashy flights if South Korea promotes propaganda against their regime.

Young college athletes can be paid legally. The NCAA has agreed to a revenue sharing plan with colleges that will allow individual schools to compensate for their athletic participation without penalty, thereby changing the face of amateur sports.

If a young person is interested in learning to fly there are many sources of information available for those interested in flight training. Organizations such as the Commemorative Air Force, Civil Air Patrol, and Reserve Officer Training Corps units in high schools and colleges are just some of the resources available to those who have an interest in aviation.

Turbulence while flying is just as unwanted by the aircrew as it is the passengers. Sometimes severe turbulence is undetectable, therefore to avoid any big surprises, keep your seat belt fastened at all times.

Meet two wingmen who personify sacrifice as well as mutual support.

How to Travel Safely on an International Trip

Traveling to a foreign country can be an exciting and enriching experience, but it's important to prioritize your safety while exploring new destinations. Whether you're embarking on a solo adventure or traveling with friends, taking the necessary precautions will ensure that your trip is not only fun but also secure. In this blog post, we'll discuss some essential tips and strategies for staying safe while on an international trip.

    Research Your Destination:

Before you even book your flight, take the time to research your destination. Learn about the local laws, customs, and cultural norms of the country you'll be visiting. Familiarize yourself with any travel advisories or safety concerns in that area. Knowing what to expect will help you avoid potential risks and navigate unfamiliar situations more confidently.

    Stay Connected:

Make sure someone back home knows your itinerary and how to reach you in case of an emergency. Keep copies of important documents like your passport, visa, and travel insurance policy in a separate location from the originals. Consider registering with your embassy or consulate so they can assist you if needed.

    Practice Situational Awareness:

While exploring a new city or town, stay alert and aware of your surroundings. Avoid displaying expensive belongings or flashing large amounts of cash. Be cautious when interacting with strangers and trust your instincts if something feels off. It's always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to personal safety.

    Use Reliable Transportation:

When traveling around in a foreign country, stick to reputable transportation options like licensed taxis or public transport systems. Avoid hitchhiking or accepting rides from strangers, especially at night. If you're renting a car, make sure it's from a trusted company and familiarize yourself with local traffic laws before hitting the road.

    Protect Your Personal Information:

Be cautious when using public Wi-Fi networks or sharing sensitive information online while abroad. Consider using a virtual private network (VPN) to encrypt your internet connection and protect your data from potential hackers. Avoid posting detailed travel plans on social media platforms that could tip off would-be thieves about your whereabouts.

    Conclusion:

Traveling internationally can be an incredible experience that opens up new horizons and creates lasting memories. By following these tips for staying safe while on an international trip, you can enjoy all the wonders of exploring a new country without compromising your security. Remember to do thorough research beforehand, stay connected with loved ones back home, practice situational awareness at all times, use reliable transportation options, and protect your personal information while traveling abroad. With these precautions in place, you can focus on immersing yourself in the culture and beauty of your destination, knowing that you've taken steps to ensure a safe journey.
