WaA! is initiated and funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented in Burundi, Democratic Republic Congo, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Sudan, and Uganda.     Mr. Angutoko Paulino Jacinto is the chairperson of the Arua City Union of Perseon with Disabilities (ACUPED). During the implementation period of We are Able (2021-2025) he experienced serious improvements for people with disabilities - like Mr. Jacinto himself. The most important change is that the government bodies have become aware of the existence and the endless possibilities of people with disabilities. "It has boosted the self-confidence immensely, especially to stand up for their rights and get in touch with the government, and now they are listening. Even the number of beggars has been reduced in recent years."
