Though he desires to marry Ruth, Boaz chooses integrity over self-interest, giving the nearer guardian-redeemer the opportunity that rightfully belongs to him. His example reminds us that faithfulness often means trusting God enough to do what is right, even when the outcome is uncertain. We also see the bigger picture of God at work through these faithful people of integrity.
