  • Jason G. Green on Faith, Memory, and Leaving the White House to Listen
    Feb 23 2026

In this episode of the Unhurried Living Podcast, Alan Fadling talks with Jason G. Green about faith, leadership, and the power of listening. Jason shares why he left his role in President Obama’s White House to sit with his grandmother in her final days—and how that decision led him to uncover the hidden history of Quince Orchard, a once-thriving African American Christian community.

Jason is the author of Too Precious to Lose, a memoir that explores memory, community, racial reconciliation, and the role of faith in repairing what has been forgotten or broken. Together, Alan and Jason reflect on Christian leadership, the importance of slowing down to listen, and what it means to steward the stories and communities we’ve inherited.

This conversation is especially meaningful for pastors, nonprofit leaders, and anyone seeking a more faithful and grounded way of leading in a divided world.

Jason G. Green is a Maryland-born community organizer, attorney, storyteller and entrepreneur. Green served as special assistant to the president, and associate White House Counsel to President Obama, advising on economic and domestic policy matters. Green co-founded SkillSmart, a company that reshapes how communities measure economic impact, and is CEO of EverGreen Labs, where he supports visionary organizations working to expand economic opportunity and strengthen community. Green serves as trustee to the Pleasant View Historic Association and supports its efforts to preserve the historic site. His award-winning documentary, Finding Fellowship, explores the rich history of Quince Orchard and the fight to preserve its legacy.

  • Let Go, Trust, and Stay Rooted When Life Feels Unsteady (Yvette Henry)
    Feb 16 2026

When life feels unsteady, many of us respond by holding tighter, trying harder, and carrying more than we were meant to bear. But Jesus offers a different way.

In this episode, Gem Fadling is joined by Yvette Henry, writer, speaker, and author of Release, Rest, Remain, for a thoughtful conversation about learning to let go, trust God, and stay rooted in his presence when life feels overwhelming.

Drawing from Jesus’ words in John 15, this conversation explores what it means to release the pressure to hold everything together, rest in God’s love, and remain spiritually grounded in the middle of real life. Together, they reflect on spiritual exhaustion, the invitation to abide rather than strive, and how spiritual fruit grows naturally when we stay connected to God.

This episode is for anyone longing for peace, stability, and a deeper sense of trust when life feels uncertain.

  • Why Non-Anxious Leadership Matters More Than Ever
    Feb 9 2026

What does it look like to lead without being quietly driven by anxiety?

In this reflective solo episode, Alan Fadling—author of A Non-Anxious Life—explores what it means to lead from peace rather than from pressure in a world marked by tension, fatigue, and uncertainty. Drawing from Scripture, spiritual formation, and years of working with Christian leaders, Alan invites listeners to consider a deeper, more durable peace—one rooted not in circumstances, but in communion with Christ.

Rather than trying to eliminate anxiety, Alan offers a wiser path: learning to relocate it, so it no longer leads. Along the way, he reflects on why peace is not just a personal virtue, but a public gift leaders offer the people they serve.

Released on the two-year anniversary of A Non-Anxious Life, this episode is an invitation to return to a way of leading marked by trust, presence, and hope—even in troubling times.
