Today we live in the tension between the already and the not yet.

Jesus has ascended, and though He is with us by His Spirit, we still ache for His full presence.

Fasting gives voice to this holy longing and keeps our hearts awake as we await His return. At its core, fasting is not about food—it is about desire. What we willingly give up reveals what we truly value. When we fast, we are declaring that God Himself is our greatest treasure, surpassing even His good gifts.

I.e Food, socials, entertainment....

Fasting is not about being seen by others, but about being honest before God. As we fast, we echo the psalmist's confession that God alone satisfies our souls.
