    In this episode, we read from our book “Schau ma mal – An Australian and a Viennese Guy Search for the Heart of Austria.”

    The chapter is called “Dead Animals on the Wall.” And honestly, that already says a lot.

    Because the moment you leave Vienna, Austria suddenly becomes a place where things that used to be alive are hanging on walls. Antlers. Deer heads. Pheasants. Some random forest creature with glass eyes.

    But why? Because of hunting tradition, status, memories and decor.
