The “Straight Shooter” returns! The Tom Roten Show podcast debuted in 2023 and is available anywhere you find podcasts. The All New Tom Roten Morning Show radio program, which was the #1 talk show in the Huntington, WV market for over two decades, is back! For 22 years, Tom built a reputation of holding politicians and governments accountable in West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio. Tom returned to the morning airwaves January 2025 on The Eagle with Total Media Radio. His efforts have been recognized in numerous ways. Tom has been honored several times by the WV Broadcasters Association for excellence in broadcasting. The KY Baptist Convention recognized Tom with their annual Integrity Award for “accurate, fair and balanced coverage of faith issues” in 2018. The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels presented a plaque commissioning Tom Roten as a Kentucky Colonel in 2021.Tom is originally from Glenville, WV and graduated from Gilmer County High School. He attended Marshall University where he began working at the college radio station in 1986. He has worked at various commercial stations including WSGB in Sutton, WV and WVHU in Huntington, WV. Since 2022, Tom has been a high school basketball coach. Tom, his wife and four sons, live in Barboursville, WV where they are active in the community and serve in various ministries at their church, Bloomingdale Baptist.

    The West Virginia Legislature created the Critical Incident Review Team last year. Earlier this month, lawmakers heard from the team for the first time. The CIRT is tasked with reviewing fatalities and near-fatalities of children in the child welfare system, and make recommendations on how they could have been prevented. Lawmakers learned that there have been 32 incidents, 29 of which were child deaths between January and April of this year. Delegate Adam Burkhammer wants answers.

    In Georgia, a "Cherokee County Sheriff's deputy barged into a house without a warrant, looking to arrest the 21-year-old son of the homeowner", according to a local TV news report. Natasha Lopez Noble is the homeowner. Her son did not live in her home. He was arrested without incident even though officers originally had no arrest warrant. Deputies then went into Natasha's home without her consent or a warrant, even though she was not accused of a crime and there was no probably cause. She is now bringing a civil suit against the the sheriff's department for violating her 4th Amendment rights. Natasha says Flock cameras were used in this incidence to track her son and his girlfriend. Most police officers do follow the Constitution and that's why those who don't need to be exposed. At the end of this episode, you'll also hear my son Sutton's call in to my radio show. Sutton recently graduated from the West Virginia Police Academy and is employed as an officer by Marshall University Police Department.
