  • Processing Grief & Healing Without Alcohol
    Jun 16 2026

In this episode of The Sober Scoop, we're exploring something many of us fear but eventually have to face: how do you grieve without alcohol? If drinking was once your go-to coping mechanism, navigating loss in sobriety can feel overwhelming, unfamiliar, and sometimes impossible. Together, we'll unpack why grief can be such a powerful trigger, what the research says about substance use and bereavement, and how we can begin to move through pain without numbing it.

  • STOP obsessing over timelines! -sunk costs, turning 30, and starting over at any age
    Jun 10 2026

In honor of my 30th birthday, this episode is about timelines, expectations, and the sunk cost mindset that keeps us stuck in situations we’ve outgrown. We convince ourselves that because we’ve already invested time, history, or effort into something, it’s harder (or even too late) to start over.

But life doesn’t actually work on a schedule. There is no “too late,” no perfect timing, and no point where you lose your ability to change direction.

We talk about releasing the pressure of timelines, letting go of sunk cost thinking, and remembering that you can restart your life at any moment. The best time to change your life is simply when you decide to.

  • Self-medicating with Alcohol
    May 27 2026

I used to drink around 15 beers a day, all throughout the day -because I wanted to maintain a two-beer buzz. I wanted to feel slightly tipsy all day, but avoid getting "out of control." Everybody drinks in different ways, and there's no one "right" way to have a drinking problem. We're all on the same team in sobriety :) -no matter how we used to drink, but today I'm sharing my story, in case anyone can relate!
