• The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World | The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus.
    Jun 28 2026

The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus or Tomb of Mausolus was a tomb built between 353 and 351 BC in Halicarnassus (present Bodrum, Turkey) for Mausolus, an Anatolian from Caria and a satrap in the Achaemenid Persian Empire, and his sister-wife Artemisia II. The structure was designed by the Greek architects Satyros of Paros and Pythius of Priene. Its elevated tomb structure is derived from the tombs of neighbouring Lycia, a territory Mausolus had invaded and annexed c. 360 BC, such as the Nereid Monument. The Mausoleum was approximately 45 m (148 ft) in height, and the four sides were adorned with sculptural reliefs, each created by one of four Greek sculptors: Leochares of Athens, Bryaxis of Halicarnassus, Scopas of Paros, and Timotheus of Epidaurus or Athens. The Mausoleum contained 400 freestanding sculptures. The mausoleum was considered to be such an aesthetic triumph that Antipater of Sidon identified it as one of his Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It was destroyed by successive earthquakes from the 12th to the 15th century; it was the last surviving of the six destroyed wonders. The word mausoleum has now come to be used generically for an above-ground tomb.Source: Wikipedia.orghttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mausoleum_at_HalicarnassusThe New Period Chat Radio presents: Seven Wonders of the Ancient Worldhttps://www.youtube.com/@thenewperiodhttps://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6upa16ru_Cz0QV19XB-KWBpDNZ8N4Ukehttps://www.youtube.com/@thenewperiodcrhttps://rumble.com/c/c-5025829https://www.bitchute.com/channel/JtdWZsd7QnbPhttps://rumble.com/c/c-5025829Patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/hectorvladimirSubstack page: https://hectorvladimir.substack.com/Hector Vladimir 2026©#mausoleum #mausoleumathalicarnassusMusic by Christodoulos HalarisThe Greeks OSTNarrated by Hector Vladimir in 2017

Challenges of interstellar travel book summary

Interstellar travel, although often presented as desired and even necessary, presents us with enormous challenges. Currently, we struggle to come up with acceptable rationales to begin to plan for it. Not only that, but the task is of gargantuan difficulty. Interstellar travel is limited by several major factors, including physical and technical, and the human factor. The physical challenges include the vast distances among stars, and the time that separate suns are just incomprehensible. Other physical factors include the interstellar medium, which is hazardous with radiation and celestial objects. And, the lack of gravity is one bonus challenge that we can overcome, not after massive investments. The technical challenges are many. We lack the overall state of technology to undertake an interstellar mission. We have not the rocket power, the payload to LEO capacity, the energy and material resources, nor the infrastructure required to even begin an interstellar program. And, we lack the word industrial, scientific, and political cooperation to gather the needed resources for this largest of projects. Lastly, the human factor puts the final nail in the coffin of interstellar flight. Introducing many problematic situations with our needs as humans. The nagging problems of space radiation, low gravity, isolation, distance from earth, and hostile environments; all bring hurdles to any interstellar mission. In fact, the human factor is the largest hurdle to such mission. However, I do believe that someday we will fly across the stars, but not in the way that many envision. I believe it will happen in an unexpected but “sure-fire” manner. This short book describes the challenges and possibilities with interstellar human travel. Enjoy.

  • Efficient Home Project – DIY sustainable home design
    Feb 11 2026

Here I discuss my latest home design project for an efficient home. I chose the triangular extrusion shape in lumber framing; for cost, feasibility and practicality of its design and construction. I equipped the home for optimum efficiency for a moderate climate location. This home is small, 3 rooms total. And it is completely self-sustained and off the grid. It has solar energy and LPG powered appliances. It runs all electronics on a 48 volt system. And it has food growing and water collection as features for sustainability.0:00 Introduction to the efficient home project2:17 Project location details3:39 Architectural style details7:39 Construction materials9:55 Comments on Architectural & material choices11:06 Interior temperature controls16:12 Electrical air conditioning18:18 Kitchen equipment - electrical19:02 Kitchen equipment - non-electrical21:38 Water heating - non-electrical22:20 Lighting22:34 Ventilation23:00 Office equipment23:30 Shop equipment24:05 Laundry equipment24:17 Total home electrical load25:35 Electrical energy - PV solar27:00 electrical calculations for PV system29:55 Water distribution31:19 Exterior layout32:58 Interior layoutLiving Off the Grid in the City Radio Show (Legacy)https://www.youtube.com/hbcsolarpvtechbyronhttps://www.youtube.com/@hbcsolarpvtechhttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61552559207892https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyWqApEqGtc5tJy1BbtZaohmLi5F0-DFZPatreon page: https://www.patreon.com/hectorvladimirSubstack page: https://hectorvladimir.substack.com/For information purposes only. • Challenges with interstellar travel - Water & food systems
    Jan 12 2026

An interstellar mission would require tons of drinking water, food, the equipment, space, materials, and supplies; to store preserve, use, and recycle their waste. And, the bulk and mass that these resources will require would be gargantuan. Not only because of the large size of the crew of an interstellar mission. But also because of the long, long, flight ahead of them. Not only these, but the crew will likely have offspring, the next generation, who will also require nurture from water and food. And, gathering water and food from destinations enroute is hardly feasible, and would only further complicate and lengthen the mission by unacceptable margins. Our technical ability at extracting water from space destinations is precisely null. And, our skills at producing food away from earth are at best in their primitive stages. So, the problems presented by our need for water and food, in space, are tremendous; to put it mildly.

  • The 1883 Bonilla UFO case
    Dec 28 2025

The Bonilla observation was an astronomical event in 1883 in which hundreds of unidentified flying objects were observed and photographed by Mexican astronomer José Bonilla. The photographs taken during the Bonilla observation are generally regarded as one of the first known examples of photographs of "unidentified flying objects". Though the objects were assumed to be flocks of high-flying geese, astronomers have suggested more recently that Bonilla was observing a nearby comet breaking apart. From wikipedia.orgBonilla observation - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonilla_observation#:~:text=The Bonilla observation is considered, the 2011 study was released. • The 1561 Nuremberg UFO sighting
    Dec 28 2025

An April 1561 broadsheet by Hans Glaser described a mass sighting of celestial phenomena or unidentified flying objects (UFO) above Nuremberg (then a Free Imperial City of the Holy Roman Empire). Ufologists have speculated that these phenomena may have been extraterrestrial spacecraft. Skeptics assert that the phenomenon was likely to have been another atmospheric phenomenon, such as a sun dog,[1] although the print does not fit the usual classic description of the phenomena. From Wikipedia.orghttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1561_celestial_phenomenon_over_NurembergEdited by Hector Vladimir 2018, 2025©The New Period Chat Radio presents: My Top UFO Caseshttps://www.youtube.com/@thenewperiodhttps://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6upa16ru_CyPQgTcneM9U0dLm66_EjWehttps://www.bitchute.com/channel/JtdWZsd7QnbPPatreon page: https://www.patreon.com/hectorvladimirSubstack page: https://hectorvladimir.substack.com/
