About this listen

Since 2024, Damon, Alex and Cam have been debating the movies that need to be on your watchlist versus the ones that don't. There are so mnay movies out there and we like you have found ourselves trying to understand how to recommend movies and give time to the right ones.

This is where we came in and tried to separate ourselves from the person at the water cooler idly making chit-chat and wasting your time by recommending whatever gubbins landed in front of them the night before. There are so many recommendations to sort out that we decided to step in and give our take with a wealth of movie history knowledge and opinion..

Yes, we have film degrees, but we are always movie fans first and approach each episode with a passion and love that has struck a chord with plenty of our listeners.

So join us as we take you on an ill-advised podcast journey of movie deep-dives, arguing Top 5's, rankings, interviews with guests and a whole wealth of movie-related film chat and plenty of Alex tangents about his culinary delights.

New episodes normally drop on Wednesdays in the UK at 12 am. Give us a follow to get those episodes directly to your feed, and if you're enjoying it, feel free to give us a top rating on whatever podcast provider you use.

"We're ready to believe you"

    Episode 84

Fire up that spaceship, it's time to head into space and speak to another movie fan desperate to share their film knowledge with the universe. In this episode, we are joined by Simon Walker of the fantastic "Movie The Needle" Podcast. In this episode, we have a Hugh Grant anecdote for the ages and some controversial takes, including some familiar ruby slippers and a certain New York cabbie. Let's hope that Simon doesn't "tear us apart!!!" (click here to listen more to Simon and co-host Carl chew on movie fat).

  • Dead Man's Shoes (2004)
    Jan 21 2026

    Episode 82

    /

"God will forgive them, I can't live with that"

    /

It's time for the gang to get back on board deep dive duty and Alex has picked the most local film that we could think of - Shane Meadows - Dead Man's Shoes!!

    /

We go into the location, the movie references, performances, Alex may or may not forget his points halfway through and Cam may or may not think Paddy Considine is both brilliant and could do better. Most importantly we talk about our new fan, fire up that film reel!!!
