  • Dear FRIENDS| A Love Letter To The TV Show That Raised Me
    Jun 26 2026

What if your favourite TV show helped raise you?

This week on The Letterbox Podcast, we open a heartfelt letter to FRIENDS (the iconic 90s TV sitcom)—the show that became more than just entertainment.

From childhood memories of reruns and box sets to lessons about friendship, love, dating, family, career changes, infertility, loyalty, and finding your place in the world, this episode explores why FRIENDS remains one of the most beloved comfort shows of all time.

It’s funny. It’s nostalgic. It’s deeply personal. And it’s ultimately a reminder that the people—and stories—we grow up with can leave a lasting mark on who we become.

Whether you’ve watched every episode or simply know the words “I’ll be there for you,” this episode is an invitation to reflect on the friendships that shape our lives and the unexpected places we find belonging.

Thank you again, Anna for sending this letter.

  • Dear Future Self | Self-Worth, Healing, Resilience & Personal Growth
    Jun 23 2026

In this episode of The Letterbox Podcast, we share a powerful letter to a future self exploring themes of self-worth, healing, resilience, and personal growth.

From Perth, Leone reflects on her journey through grief, loss, uncertainty, and transformation — and the strength it takes to rebuild and rise through life’s hardest seasons. Her words speak to anyone on a path of healing, self-discovery, and learning to trust themselves again.

She also reflects on wāhine strength — a Māori concept that honours the resilience, intuition, and grace of women. It is a reminder that strength can be both powerful and gentle, and that growth often comes through the most challenging chapters of life.

At the heart of this letter is a message of empowerment: to stop shrinking, to release self-doubt, and to stand fully in who you are becoming.

Thank you so much to Leone for this beautiful letter. Go and her journey on her instagram page @aronuiwellness ❤️

  • To Every Politician Past and Present| A Carers Plea For Support
    Jun 22 2026

In this episode of The Letterbox Podcast, Mary writes a powerful open letter to politicians past and present who she believes have ignored the plight of unpaid carers in the UK.

Mary shares her lived experience as the full-time carer for her son Daniel, who suffered severe brain damage in infancy following complications from a childhood cancer diagnosis. For over 44 years, she has provided round-the-clock care — totalling around 138 hours every week — alongside the emotional, physical, and financial pressures that come with lifelong caregiving.

She speaks candidly about Carer’s Allowance, currently £86.45 per week, which equates to approximately 63p an hour for her care, and the strict earnings threshold that penalises carers who try to supplement their income. Mary also highlights the impact of policy changes such as carers losing their allowance upon reaching state pension age, despite continuing their caring responsibilities.

This episode explores the reality of unpaid carers in the UK, the hidden labour that supports families and the wider health and social care system, and the ongoing debate around welfare support, disability care, and government policy.

A deeply personal letter that raises urgent questions about how society values care, disability support, and the millions of unpaid carers who quietly hold everything together.

You can follow Mary’s campaign on her instagram @mcgo_2022.
