  • 3/2 Florida Weather 6 AM: Special Weather Statement
    Mar 2 2026
Good morning. Florida. I'm Aaron Jolly. Grab your coffee and listen up, folks. If you're anywhere in North Florida right now, you mightn't be able to see your neighbor's house. Dense fog swallowed Lake and inland Volusia counties overnight. Visibilities dropped to a quarter mile. It lifts by mid morning, but take it slow through sunrise. In the next 24 hours. So what's driving today's weather? High pressure parked over the Northeast is funneling a steady onshore breeze across the whole peninsula. Think of it like a giant fan blowing Atlantic air straight at us. That sets up completely different days depending on which coast you're standing on. Let's start down in Miami. You're already at 71 degrees. Feels like summer never left. A few quick showers could pop along the coast around 6 A.M., but they move fast. Highs reach 78 degrees with breezy east winds gusting to 18 miles an hour. Tonight stays balmy at 72. Slide up to Orlando and the vibe shifts. Clear skies, 59 degrees at the door. Sunshine pushes you to 79 by early afternoon. Winds gust to 15 miles an hour around 3 P.M. Tonight settles to a comfortable 62. Jacksonville. You're socked in at 53 degrees. Once that fog burns off, mostly sunny skies carry you to 75 by 1 P.M. Northeast gusts hit 20 miles an hour. Patchy fog sneaks back after midnight. Now Tampa Bay. Sixty two degrees this morning, climbing to a gorgeous 83. A slight chance of thunderstorms south of Sarasota, but most of you stay dry. Tonight eases to 63. Looking ahead, that onshore flow digs in all week. Temperatures keep climbing. Inland spots push upper 80s to low 90s by Friday. The coast stays cooler, upper 70s. but Atlantic beaches get rough. High rip current risk starts Tuesday. Seas build to four to seven feet. Not the week to test your boogie board skills. I'll be tracking that warming trend all week. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • 3/1 Florida Weather 6 PM: Severe Thunderstorm Warning
    Mar 1 2026
Good evening. Florida. I'm Aaron Jolly. So Florida decided to kick off March with some drama. A cold front stalled over South Florida today and squeezed out thunderstorms that dropped pea sized hail from Homestead to Miami Beach. Hail. In March. That front is losing steam now, sliding south and fading out. In the next 24 hours. Down in South Florida, you're still at 79 degrees with showers lingering through early evening. A quarter to half inch of rain where those storms rumbled through. Things quiet down by 10 P.M. and overnight lows settle near 71 degrees. Warm and muggy. Classic. Slide over to Tampa Bay and it's a completely different vibe. 80 degrees, sunny skies, not a storm in sight. Tonight eases to 61 degrees with a few clouds drifting in. Nice evening to sit on the porch. Up in Central Florida, you caught a break too. Mostly sunny, 76 degrees. Tonight drops to a refreshing 58 degrees. That's open the windows weather. North Florida wins the day though. Pure sunshine, 71 degrees, cooling to 52 tonight. Crisp enough to grab a light jacket. Now here's where it gets interesting. High pressure muscles in tomorrow, flipping the winds to the northeast. Most of the state stays dry with highs in the mid to upper 70s. South Florida sees a few morning coastal showers, then clearing by afternoon near 78 degrees. The real story is what builds from there. That high pressure locks in easterly winds all week, pumping Gulf moisture inland. Afternoon pop up showers become a daily habit, especially over the interior. Temperatures climb fast. Mid 80s by Wednesday. Flirting with 90 degrees inland by Friday. and the beaches? Dangerous rip currents develop by Tuesday with seas building to 5 to 8 feet. Stay out of the surf. Charge your phone and keep the umbrella in the car this week. You'll need both. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • 3/1 Florida Weather Noon: Record Cold
    Mar 1 2026
Good afternoon. Florida. I'm Aaron Jolly. A cold front pushed through yesterday and now it's just. Sitting there. Draped across South Florida like a wet towel on a pool chair. That stalled front is the whole story today. In the next 24 hours. North of it? Gorgeous. Jacksonville's soaking up sunshine with highs near 71 degrees. Drive south to Orlando and Tampa Bay, same deal. Mostly sunny, 77 to 79 degrees. Perfect patio weather. South Florida, you drew the short straw. That dying front overhead means a coin flip on showers and thunderstorms between 11 A.M. and 11 P.M. Miami and Fort Lauderdale top out around 79 degrees, but it'll feel sticky. Keep the umbrella close. Quick morning note. If you were up early in North Florida, you probably drove through fog. Dense patches lingered through 9 A.M. That's cleared out now, but heads up for tomorrow morning too. Beach folks, listen up. High rip current risk at Volusia and North Brevard beaches today. Stay out of the surf. South of Cape Canaveral, moderate risk. Not the day to test your swimming skills. Tonight clears out nicely. Jacksonville cools to 53 degrees. Central Florida settles near 58. South Florida stays balmy at 71. Monday? Sunshine everywhere. but northeast winds kick up along the coast, gusting to 20 miles an hour by afternoon. That onshore breeze sticks around all week. Now the week ahead gets interesting. High pressure locks in and cranks the thermostat. Low 80s Tuesday and Wednesday. By Thursday and Friday. We're flirting with 90 degrees inland. Record highs are on the table. The coast stays cooler thanks to those persistent east winds, but Southwest Florida and inland spots will feel like May showed up two months early. In One bright spot to close on. Sunrise at 6, 52 A.M., sunset at 6:26 P.M. Nearly twelve hours of daylight. Spring equinox is just nineteen days away. I'll be watching those record temps all week. Should be a wild ride. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
