  • 054: Is Burnout A Problem In Healthcare?
    Jan 23 2026

In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Dustin Petersen, a former EMT turned Trauma Surgeon. I've always been curious to know what goes through a doctor's mind when watching some of today's Hollywood takes on medicine. Let's be honest, if you work as a first responder, you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about when it comes to some of these TV shows out there.

Dr. Petersen shares with me some insights when it comes to what led him to get into healthcare in the first place. I can honestly say, I don't know too many Doctors who started off as a first responder. We discuss key topics beginning with empathy for our patients, and work our way through to what leads to burnout and why it seems to be so common today.

Throughout the episode, Dr. Petersen shares some real life stories, struggles, and more. We discuss the shortage of Paramedics throughout the country and why we think that number continues to grow. Overall, this was a fun episode and I hope you enjoy it as well.

  • 053: Creating A Daily Routine Is The Secret to 2026
    Jan 14 2026

I decided to get a little personal this episode. I don't know if it's due to all of the events 2026 has already brought, or if my age is playing a role. If there's one thing I've learned, life is way too short to be serious all the time.

So I decided to discuss with you what has helped me get through 2025, and what I plan to continue doing in 2026 to make it as successful of a year as possible.

If there's one thing I could recommend for you is this: Love often, avoid drama, be slow to anger, and do the best you can at whatever it is you are doing.

  • 052: It's Time To Protect Our Churches
    Jan 2 2026

In this New Year's special episode, Tyler Burns and Cody Randall reflect on their holiday experiences and discuss the importance of church safety with guest Ben Fries, a police officer who trains church safety teams. They explore the need for legal defense in self-defense situations, the impact of mental health on first responders, and the significance of community engagement and basic firearm training. The conversation emphasizes the importance of empowering civilians and the role of non-profits in supporting church safety initiatives.

We're talking about a serious incident today, where a gunfight served as a wake-up call for officers regarding the need for personal legal assistance. This experience highlighted how crucial it is to have a lawyer and a strong law firm on your side, emphasizing the importance of understanding your legal rights in such situations. It truly showed that self defense extends beyond the physical, into having proper legal representation.
