Cats or dogs. It's the oldest argument going, but tonight we're actually settling it as photographers.

Greg's a cat person. Justin's a dog person. And it turns out the two animals are completely different to shoot. Dogs give you everything, eye contact, expression, they'll hold a look and they actually want to please the camera. Cats give you nothing on purpose. You have to wait and steal the moment when it happens, a bit like street photography with claws.

So the real question underneath all the tribal stuff is this. Do you prefer a subject that performs for you, or one you have to catch? We go back and forth on it, drag in some real pet shoot footage, and let the live chat pick a side.

Originally from London, Aaron ran away with the circus to become an aerial acrobat touring the world, an aerial coach and show consultant. His love of travel and working with physically dynamic artists led to a deep passion in capturing these moments with a creative photography practice that celebrates the power and uniqueness of the physical form.

Aarons photography is how he see’s the world around him, full of people and places that are full of energy, vibrancy and colour.

From dynamic editorial portraits and lifestyle hero shots to immersive coverage of events, live productions, and brand promotions, Aaron works across the full lifecycle of a project. Justin is back from his African adventure! Greg and Justin will dig into what an African Wildlife Safari is really like plus all the usual Random Show goodness like camera news and reviewing your images!

John has worked for four decades as a professional freelance photographer and writer, contributing to magazines around the world and producing work for major brands in the adventure sports and travel industries. Many of these clients retained his services for more than 25 years, reflecting the long-standing relationships he built throughout his career.

Alongside his freelance work, he spent two decades as Picture Editor and staff photographer for a leading winter sports magazine.
While much of his photography has been created in high mountain environments, assignments for cycling companies and other clients have also taken him around the world, providing opportunities to produce personal work for exhibition.

Today, John continues to write and photograph for magazines covering motorcycle travel and outdoor adventure. He is also preparing an exhibition of his latest photographic prints, which will be presented at his home as part of the Yarra Valley Arts Open Studios in October.
