This week on The Book Fix Podcast, Yajaira and Cheli are back with another Reddit Paranormal episode, but this time, something smells seriously sinister.

After reading a chilling story about mysterious rotting odors, unexplained incense, a strained relationship with a possibly witchy mother, and a sudden streak of terrible luck, the hosts debate whether the poster is dealing with a paranormal warning, a curse, or one horrifying coincidence. The conversation quickly spirals into family stories about witch doctors, hexes, healing rituals, manifestation, strange coincidences, psychic connections, past lives, tarot cards, and whether bad energy can genuinely affect the people around us.

Along the way, Yajaira and Cheli share their own unexplainable experiences, question whether they have accidentally manifested major life events, argue over whether bugs have souls, and somehow end up discussing spiders, memory loss, and the possibility of returning as the world’s greatest slug.

Is the mysterious smell a sign of witchcraft or is there a perfectly normal explanation? Grab your protective herbs, avoid making enemies with anyone who owns tarot cards, and join Yajaira and Cheli as they rate this unsettling Reddit story on the Spook-O-Meter!

  • Murder at Holly House by Denzil Meyrick | a corpse in the chimney?!
    Aug 18 2026

This week on The Book Fix Podcast, Detective Month continues as Yajaira and Cheli take on the chilling case of Murder at Holly House by Denzil Meyrick.

It’s December 1952, and the remote village of Elderby is preparing for Christmas when a dead stranger is discovered lodged inside the chimney of Holly House. Was he a thief, a would-be murderer, or something far more dangerous? Inspector Frank Grasby is sent to investigate, hoping the case might finally repair his damaged reputation, but nothing in Elderby is quite as it seems.

Yajaira and Cheli are officially on the case, examining the clues, questioning the suspects, and deciding whether this snowbound Christmas mystery delivers a clever and satisfying reveal, or leaves too many loose ends buried in the snow.

  • reddit paranormal: the ghost in the rocking chair
    Aug 13 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

This week on The Book Fix Podcast, Yajaira and Cheli venture into the unsettling world of Reddit Paranormal. They read creepy stories about children who seem to know things they shouldn’t, mysterious figures hiding in bedrooms, possible memories from past lives, and one deeply suspicious rocking chair that may, or may not, have been moving on its own.

As the stories get stranger, Yajaira and Cheli debate whether kids are simply imaginative, unusually observant, or somehow able to see things adults can’t. They also reveal what they would do if a child casually mentioned a ghost in the closet, whether they would ever spend the night in a haunted house, and why babysitting becomes infinitely more terrifying when you’re the only “adult” there.

Grab your holy water, turn on every light in the house, and keep a close eye on any nearby rocking chairs because this episode is equal parts hilarious, chaotic, and genuinely creepy.
