  • 06| L2L Negative Debate (2026)
    May 13 2026

Welcome to this episode of Talking Truth!

This episode contains my partner and I’s negative debate at Lads 2 Leaders!

In this debate, we had to argue against the proposition, essentially that we don’t believe baptism is necessary to be saved.

Of course, this was not our actual view on this topic, but it was informational to know how to debate from this point of view.

Our opponents did an amazing job representing the truth, and if you ever have any questions about what you have heard in this episode or throughout this podcast, please don’t hesitate to ask!

    Thank you for listening!

  • 05| L2L Affirmative Debate (2026)
    Apr 23 2026

Welcome to another episode of Talking Truth,

This episode is a recording of my partner Ava and I’s debate at Lads 2 Leaders in the affirmative position. The constructive speeches end at around the 17 minute mark, and the rebuttals begin shortly after.

I apologize for the poor quality of the audio; we were put in a room that had a really loud fan right outside of it! I know that it messed with the audio a lot, but there are various moments when the audio is clearer than others.

The proposition of this debate was “Resolved: The New Testament Teaches That Those Who Have Faith Must Also Be Baptized To Be Saved By God’s Grace”

Thank you for listening! Do you have any thoughts on what could have been said, or what was missed in the rebuttal portion?

  • 01| Faith Works
    Feb 8 2026

Welcome to the first episode of the 2026 season! This episode is my submission for Lads To Leader’s Mass Communications event.

In October of last year, I ran my final high school cross country race. This April, my time of participating in Lads To Leaders as a highschooler will be over as well. Now as I look back at my time in both of these influential programs, I have recognized some similar lessons that I have been taught through the two of them. Lads To Leaders and cross country have both shown me how to be a better Christian, and how to live out the Christian faith. So, how does faith work? First, I recognized that faith works through endurance. Having a strong faith will not remove our struggles, but will help us to rise above them. Secondly, faith works through discipline. Our faith has to be backed up by consistent habits that bear good fruit. Lastly, our faith works through our past and present cloud of witnesses. These 3 characteristics of faith help us to form a biblical faith that we can know works, because as James 2:17 says, faith, without works, is dead.
